A Momentous Beginning: The Founding of the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland
To God be the glory - a proud and enduring future for Rizalians around the world.
January 7, 2026 - Lucerne, Switzerland: The Ladies of Rizal Switzerland proudly announce two historic milestones that mark the birth and formal establishment of the organization. November 26, 2025, stands as its official Foundation Day, while January 2, 2026, marks the Oath-Taking of its Founder and President. Together, these dates signal the beginning of a new Rizalian presence in Switzerland, one rooted in service, patriotism, and the enduring ideals of Dr. José Rizal.
The Oath-Taking Ceremony was held on January 2, 2026, in Brussels, Belgium, a fitting and symbolic location that reflects the organization’s European foundation and international outlook. On this significant occasion, Lady Michelle Ngo Salangsang was conferred a Medal of Recognition by Sir Lino Paras, KGCR, Chairman of the Knights of Rizal European Council. The honor recognizes her leadership, dedication, and steadfast commitment to Rizalism.
Formed by dedicated officers and future members, the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland is a direct affiliate of the Knights of Rizal. The organization is capable of standing independently while maintaining close collaboration with the Knights of Rizal and Rizalian charitable institutions worldwide. United by a shared purpose, the group is committed to advancing Rizalism through education, cultural preservation, and humanitarian service.

Lady Michelle Ngo Salangsang brings with her a deeply personal connection to the values she now champions. Born and raised in Paco, Manila, she is the daughter of a Cebuana mother and a father from Fujian, China. This multicultural heritage has shaped her strong advocacy for education, equality, love of country, and cross-cultural understanding, principles that mirror the teachings and vision of Dr. José Rizal.
Together with her husband, Sir Yenz Salangsang, KCR, current Chapter Head of the Knights of Rizal Lucerne Chapter, Lady Michelle actively promotes Rizalism in Switzerland. Their commitment goes beyond organizational leadership. As parents, they strive to instill in their son, Jaden, a deep sense of pride in his Filipino roots and the strength of his heritage wherever life may lead him.
Lady Michelle expresses her profound gratitude to the distinguished leaders whose guidance and trust made this historic undertaking possible: Sir Lino Paras, KGCR, Chairman of the Knights of Rizal European Council; Sir Antonio Guansing, KGCR, Senior Adviser, Europe Region Council; Sir Jim Rebong, KCGR, Europe Council; Sir Johnny Villa, KGOR, European Deputy Regional Commander; Sir Noubikko Ulanday, KGOR; and Sir Virgilio Esguerra, KGCR. Their confidence and support remain foundational to the organization’s growth and direction.
Looking ahead, the Oath-Taking of Members is scheduled for February 27, 2026, at Schloss Schauensee in Kriens, Lucerne. The 13th-century castle, a treasured cultural and historical landmark, serves as a powerful symbol of continuity between history and the future, reflecting the very spirit of Rizalism.
Deeply honored by the trust placed in her, Lady Michelle Ngo Salangsang reaffirms her commitment to serve wholeheartedly, lead with integrity, act with fairness, and strengthen unity among Rizalians. Through the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland, she envisions a compassionate and purpose-driven community that honors the past while shaping a proud and enduring future for Rizalians around the world.
