Ladies of Rizal Switzerland Founded to Promote Rizalian Ideals, Filipino Heritage, and Women’s Leadership in Europe

March 7, 2026, Lucern, Switzerland — A new organization dedicated to promoting the ideals of Philippine national hero José Rizal and strengthening Filipino identity abroad has been formally established with the founding of the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland.

Founded on 26 November 2025, the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland is the first affiliate of the Knights of Rizal established in Switzerland, marking a historic milestone for the Filipino community in the country. The association operates as an autonomous women-led organization while maintaining close collaboration with the Knights of Rizal and upholding the traditions and values of Rizalian organizations worldwide.

Founder Emphasizes the Importance of Cultural Identity

The founder and president of the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland highlighted the importance of preserving Filipino identity among families living overseas.

“The establishment of the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland is rooted in our deep admiration for the life and ideals of Dr. José Rizal,” the founder and president said. “As Filipino women living in Switzerland, we believe it is our responsibility to preserve our language, culture, and values and to pass these on to our children and to future generations.”

She emphasized that the organization was created not only to celebrate Filipino heritage but also to cultivate leadership, character, and community engagement among Filipino women.
