'Such a loss': Hairstylist to the stars dies after 'valiant' battle with cancer

Kim Vo, celebrity hairstylist and colourist to Hollywood's elite, has died aged 55.

Sharing news of the death via Instagram, Vo's husband, business partner and West Hollywood salon co-owner Adeel Khan revealed the reality star had been battling colorectal cancer since 2018.

"My beloved husband, best friend, partner in life & business, Kim Vo, has taken his final breath," Khan wrote.<<attends Bravo's 2010 Upfront Party>> at Skylight Studio on March 10, 2010 in New York City.

In the moving statement, Khan said while his late husband had "fought valiantly" and "won many battles" throughout his cancer journey, he'd since unfortunately succumbed to the disease.

"Ultimately, God decided it was time for our angel on earth to return home."

Khan added that in lieu of flowers, Vo had requested donations to be made to the Kim Vo Foundation, which was formed in support of creatives in the hair and beauty industries whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Vo had been the hairstylist behind a number of big names' most iconic looks, including the likes of Paris Hilton, Gwyneth Paltrow, Uma Thurman and Pamela Anderson.

The comments section was flooded with tributes to the late stylist, including one from ex-client Paris Hilton herself.

"Oh no! The iconic Perez pink and all my wold colours – as well as my lush blondes – were thanks to Kim. A master of his craft and art! Such a loss!" The reality star commented.

Internet personality Trisha Paytas also extended her condolences in the comments, describing Vo as "kind, and always smiling."

"Oh what an amazing person he was... sending love."

Vo was first recognised by American Vogue in 2015-2016, who labelled the hairstylist "the best blonder in the business."

He then went on to become a celebrated television personality, becoming global ambassador for iconic beauty brands such as L'Oréal and Schwarzkopf in the process.

"He was beloved not only by his family and friends, but by the global hair community and millions of viewers who came to know him for both his artistry and his warmth." Khan said of his late husband.

Vo was a key fixture in popular reality series Blowing LA, which follows "two Los Angeles hair salons at the top of their game," as competition-driven drama ensues.
