Knights of Rizal Switzerland Stages Prestigious Investiture, Elevation & Awards Ceremony in Lucerne

Lucerne, Switzerland – May 2, 2026 – In a celebration of honor, heritage, and service, the Knights of Rizal Switzerland convened a distinguished Investiture, Elevation, and Awards Ceremony at the iconic Schweizerhof Luzern, overlooking the breathtaking shores of Lake Lucerne.

Hosted by the Knights of Rizal Luzern Chapter, the event gathered an esteemed assembly of dignitaries, members, and guests united in their commitment to uphold the enduring ideals of Dr. José Rizal.

The ceremony was presided over by Sir Alexander A. Onia, KGOR, Supreme Council Supreme Archivist and Overseas Representative, alongside Switzerland Area Commander Sir Stephan Urs Breu and Deputy Area Commander and Luzern Chapter Commander Sir Yenz Salangsang.

Elevating the significance of the occasion, His Excellency Bernard Faustino La Madrid Dy, Philippine Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, attended as Guest of Honor. Joining him were Ms. Charisma Coros-Pineda, newly appointed Cultural Officer; Sir Arnold Santos Argaño, filmmaker, creative visionary, and CEO of IONiX Studios; and Sir Erwyn Claudio, who traveled from the Philippines to take part in the ceremonies.

A centerpiece of the program was the formal dubbing of new Knights and the recognition of outstanding members for their exemplary contributions. The occasion also marked the oath-taking of the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland and the ceremonial revival of the prestigious Medal of Honor from the Knights of Rizal Headquarters—symbolizing renewed commitment to excellence and service. The vital role of Ladies of Rizal Switzerland in advancing the organization’s mission was likewise highlighted.

Beyond the ceremonial rites, the evening came alive with musical performances and presentations by the Luzern Chapter, showcasing ongoing and forthcoming humanitarian initiatives in the Philippines. These programs are aimed at uplifting communities while championing education, patriotism, and civic responsibility.

The Ladies of Rizal Switzerland were formally introduced, articulating their vision to strengthen cultural ties and deepen civic engagement within the Filipino and international communities.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed pledge among Knights, Ladies, and distinguished guests to further advance Rizalism and uphold the noble vision of the Knights of Rizal worldwide.
