Ladies of Rizal Switzerland Welcomes Two Honorary Members in Landmark Manila Ceremony

MANILA, Philippines — July 26, 2026 — The Ladies of Rizal Switzerland strengthened its international mission with the induction of Lady Atty. Jewel Bulos and Lady Lenie Pantoja as Honorary Members during a landmark ceremony held at the International Headquarters of the Knights of Rizal in Manila.

The occasion brought together distinguished leaders and officers of the Order, led by Supreme Commander Sir Emmanuel Calairo, and highlighted the continuing cooperation between the Knights of Rizal and the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland.

The ceremony also reflected the growing role of Filipino organizations in Europe in preserving national heritage, promoting cultural understanding, and introducing the principles of Philippine national hero Dr. José P. Rizal to a wider international audience.

Founder and President Lady Michelle Ngo Salangsang, representing the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland, described the induction as an important moment in the organization’s development and its relationship with the Knights of Rizal.

She emphasized that the occasion represented more than the recognition of two accomplished women. It also affirmed the shared commitment of both organizations to education, civic responsibility, cultural preservation, humanitarian service, and international friendship.

Lady Michelle expressed the organization’s sincere appreciation to Supreme Commander Sir Emmanuel Calairo and the officers of the Knights of Rizal International Headquarters for their continued trust, encouragement, and support.

She noted that women play an increasingly important role in advancing the values associated with Rizalism and in developing programmes that connect communities across borders.

By recognising women as active partners in the Rizalian movement, the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland hopes to encourage further collaboration in cultural, educational, charitable, and community-based initiatives throughout Europe, the Philippines, and other parts of the world.

Recognising Leadership and Public Service

The induction honoured the professional achievements and public-service contributions of Lady Atty. Jewel Bulos and Lady Lenie Pantoja.

Lady Atty. Jewel Bulos serves as Vice President for Administration at the University of Makati. She was also elected twice as President of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Manila Chapter, demonstrating her leadership in law, education, and institutional administration.

Lady Lenie Pantoja serves as a consultant to E. Zobel Inc. and the Office of the Mayor of Bataan. Her work reflects a commitment to civic engagement, organisational development, and service to local communities.

Their appointment as Honorary Members recognises their leadership, integrity, and dedication to the principles represented by Dr. Rizal, including intellectual excellence, patriotism, social responsibility, and service to others.

As members of the organisation, they will serve as ambassadors of Rizalism and partners in initiatives designed to promote Filipino history, heritage, education, cultural identity, and humanitarian cooperation.

Connecting Rizal’s Legacy with Europe

The Ladies of Rizal Switzerland has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Knights of Rizal and to working closely with Rizalian organisations in the Philippines and abroad.

Based in Switzerland, the organisation seeks to provide a platform through which women can participate in heritage preservation, cultural diplomacy, youth education, charitable activities, and community development.

Its work also contributes to strengthening the connection between overseas Filipinos and their cultural roots while introducing European communities to the writings, values, and historical importance of Dr. José Rizal.

Rizal travelled extensively throughout Europe and spent significant periods in countries including Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. His experiences in Europe influenced his intellectual development, political thinking, and vision for peaceful social reform.

For the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland, promoting his legacy in Europe therefore carries particular historical and cultural significance.

The Manila induction represents another step in expanding the organisation’s international network and building meaningful cooperation between Filipino communities, European institutions, and cultural organisations.

Lady Michelle Ngo Salangsang ended her address with the organisation’s motto:
