Behind-the-scenes Golden Globes video reveals a side of Leonardo DiCaprio we never get to see

Leonardo DiCaprio revealed a side of himself that we never see during a behind the scenes moment from the 2026 Golden Globes

As the ceremony cut to a commercial break, the 51-year-old actor and producer was cut giving one of the most animated demonstrations of his personality ever seen

The clip, which has understandably gone viral, shows DiCaprio as he spots someone across the room and starts to very dramatically get their attention.

Watch the video above.

He mouths something to the person, and then re-enacts what the person was doing, pointing around himself with plenty of flourish.

He touches his lips. He mimes a moment of realisation. He cracks himself up again so much that he then re-enacts his own re-enactment, with more points and what appears to be a stage-whispered "K-pop".

And then it's over, with the actor back to his signature blank stare again, as the clip ends.

The moment is by far one of the most candid that we've ever seen from the famously serious Oscar winner.

And it's even more hilarious that the actor showed off this rarely seen side of his personality after Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser roasted him in her opening monologue

"What a career you've had. I mean, countless iconic performances. You've worked with every great director. You've won three Golden Globes, an Oscar. And the most impressive thing is that you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30," Glaser joked.Nikki Glaser roasts Leonardo DiCaprio

"I mean, it's just insane. Leo, I'm sorry I made that joke. It's cheap. You know what? I tried not to, but we don't know anything else about you, man, like there's nothing else. Like, open up. Are you serious?

"I looked, I searched. The most in-depth interview you've ever given was in Teen Beat magazine in 1991. Is your favourite still pasta, pasta and more pasta? Look it up. That's real."

As the camera flipped to DiCaprio he nodded and confirmed that yes, that is still his favourite meal.

But the joke about him being oh-so-serious all the time is something that he has become known for, especially during his years chasing an Oscar.

The One Battle After Another star became known for never showing his personality in interviews, instead he focused on talking about his craft and love of storytelling.

So, with this glimpse of the real DiCaprio making headlines, fans might be in luck if they want to see more of it this year.
