Cody Simpson's sister confirms he and Emma McKeon are 'moving forward' following split: 'I love them both dearly'

Cody Simpson's sister has revealed he and Emma McKeon are "moving forward" following their split after four years together.

Younger sister Alli Simpson, 27, acknowledged the breakup on The Morning Show following reports the Aussie singer and Olympic swimmer quietly separated at the end of last year.

"She is like sunshine in human form, so I'm just so happy they can move forward," she told the hosts.

Simpson, 29, and McKeon, 31, had been together since 2022.

Speaking on the show, Alli didn't share a reason for their split but explained the pair are navigating this time privately.

"I don't want to speak for either of them, this is their private time and their business and I love them both dearly," she said.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph today, Alli added: "Break-ups are never easy, whether you're in the public eye or not. I'm just happy if both of them are happy.

"I'm sure they'll address things in their own time." 

A pair close to the couple confirmed the split was "amicable", telling the newspaper on Wednesday both Simpson and McKeon "are still really good friends". 

The couple were living on the Gold Coast together. Simpson however, has been spending more time in LA recently as he gets back into his music career.

McKeon has also been spotted in LA this week supporting the Australian Olympic swim team.

The pair have yet to publicly comment on the matter.

Simpson and McKeon met in early 2022 and bonded over their love of swimming.

Simpson had moved into the sport after a long singing career, trying his luck and making the Australian Olympic Team.

They both spoke openly about their relationship, with Simpson previously telling nine.com.au his then-girlfriend, who is the most decorated Australian Olympian of all time, was his "rock in life."

"Anyone who has that in life is lucky," he said.

When Simpson decided to pick his music career back up, McKeon was there to support him. 

Simpson confirmed their romance to the world in July 2022 with a sweet Instagram post to fans.

The singer hadn't spoken about marriage, but in a 2025 interview said he wanted to start a family with McKeon one day. 

"We have something that is beautiful and honest and pure," he said at the time. "It's been a real breath of fresh air in my life."
