'Doing it on my own': Mystery deepens around actress and comedian's split

Elsie Hewitt has made some pointed remarks on social media, claiming to be solo parenting her newborn following her shock split from boyfriend Pete Davidson.

The model, 30, and comedian, 32, share five-month-old daughter Scottie Rose.

Sources close to Davidson have refuted Hewitt's claims, after she made multiple mentions across posts on TikTok and Instagram.

In one TikTok video, where the model clapped back at comments she looked too casual in paparazzi photos, the new mum told fans she has higher "priorities" at the moment.

"That's not what I'm thinking about right now, because I have a baby to take care of, and I also have to work and make money, and I'm doing it on my own, which is hard," she said.

Followers made a variety of comments on the clip, which Hewitt liked or commented on.

"I hope you don't mean you're doing the financial part alone... that would be insane given the circumstances," one fan wrote.

"You seem like a lovely person and a wonderful mother! We're all rooting for you."

In a now deleted comment, according to People magazine, Hewitt told them "I am :)"

The same day, Hewitt shared on Instagram Stories that she's looking for paid help.

"I'm currently trying to find an assistant/ mother's helper / nanny type / basically [a] right hand person," Hewitt wrote in text over an image of herself on the sofa.Elsie Hewitt

"Apply here if qualified & serious. Only looking @ responses with resumes."

However, sources close to Davidson have said the father has offered to help.

"Pete has made himself extremely available and has provided full financial support," they told People magazine.

"Pete is actually covering all Scottie costs and more."

According to other sources, the couple are not currently in a good place, with problems in their relationship first arising while Hewitt was pregnant.

They're attempting to find a way forward and figure out a way to co-parent.
