Security guard at the centre of Chappell Roan drama breaks silence: 'I take full responsibility'

The security guard at the centre of recent controversy surrounding Chappell Roan's treatment of a young fan has broken his silence.

Pascal Duvier was alleged to have "aggressively confronted" 11-year-old Ada and her mother, Catherine Harding, at a hotel in Brazil shortly after the young fan passed by Roan's table.

Now, Duvier has issued an apology for the incident, which was said to have left the child "in tears."Pascal Duvier chappell roan security guard drama

Taking to Instagram, Duvier took full responsibility for what happened, but revealed that he was not a member of the pop singer's security team.

"I do not normally address online rumours, but the accusations currently circulating are false and constitute defamation," he wrote.

"I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st. I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual, and I was not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan.

"The actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management, or any other individuals."Chappell Roan attends the 68th GRAMMY Awards at Crypto.com Arena on February 01, 2026 in Los Angeles, California.

"My sole interaction with the mother was calm and with good intentions, and the outcome of the encounter is regretful," he continued.

The unfortunate incident made headlines this week after Ada's stepfather, Brazilian soccer star Jorginho Frello, posted an Instagram story blasting Roan.

The protective stepdad had originally assumed that Roan deliberately sent her security to scold his daughter, after she'd walked past the star's table at the hotel they were staying at.Jorginho Frello accused Chappell Roan of making his step-daughter Ada Law cry

"My daughter got super scared and cried a lot," Frello wrote. "Honestly, I don't know in what world just passing by a table and looking … can be considered harassment."

"Without your fans you would be nobody," he also wrote, directly addressing Roan. "And to the fans, she does not deserve your affection."
