Taylor Swift skips American Music Awards despite being the most-nominated artist of the year

Despite being the most nominated artist at this year's American Music Awards, Taylor Swift will not be in attendance.
While some fans thought she may have just skipped the red carpet, People has confirmed the Fate of Ophelia singer won't be attending the awards ceremony.
This is despite the fact Swift, 36, is nominated for eight awards this year for her album The Life of a Showgirl. One can only assume she's too busy planning a wedding!

With 40 AMAs under her belt, the singer is already the most awarded artist in the award show's history, beating Michael Jackson (who won 26) and Whitney Houston (22).
The singer has been spotted out and about in New York City with her fiancé, Travis Kelce, over the past few weeks.
Meanwhile, the AMAs are held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Swift is rumoured to be getting married in New York in July, but the singer also has a busy schedule ahead of her big day.
Just two days ago, Swift and Kelce were spotted at a New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers NBA Game at Rocket Arena, New York.
On June 11, the performer will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in New York City.
There, she will make history as the youngest woman to ever be inducted into the organisation.
Just a few weeks later, she is expected to tie the knot in a private, yet supposedly massive, wedding ceremony in the Big Apple.
The guest list is reported to include stars like Ed Sheeran, Zoe Kravitz and Gigi Hadid.
Aside from planning a wedding and making history once again, the singer has had a whirlwind 12 months.
She wrapped up her record-breaking Eras Tour and released her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.
The album unsurprisingly shattered records, with the best first-week album sales in modern history.
Two months later, Swift released a docu-series about her historic Eras Tour, called Taylor Swift: The End of an Era, on Disney+.
She also dropped a concert film, Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show in the same week.
The star is so busy, it's not surprising she decided to skip the AMAs.
