Teen actor Walker Scobell forced to skip prom over vile death threats: 'It's not fair'
Walker Scobell has been forced to pull out of his school prom after obsessive fans targeted his potential dates with death threats.
In an Instagram story shared with his millions of followers, the Percy Jackson and the Olympians star, 17, condemned the disturbing behavior of those targeting young girls in his social circle.
"Just to let everyone know, I will not be attending prom," the post on his stories began.
"Please stop sending death threats to EVERY teenage girl who could remotely be associated with me based on their proximity to where I live.
"It's not fair to them or their families. Maybe just stop sending death threats in general.
"That's just not cool. Kinda weird I have to say this."
Scobell shared the text message on a black background.

Scobell shot to the spotlight after landing the role in Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
He was just 13 when he was cast in the series, which is based on the popular book series by Rick Riordan.
The series first premiered in 2023, and Scobell has previously opened up about his return to school after it hit screens.
"When season one was coming out, I was on the press tour, and then I came back... I think going back to school after the press tour was a little weird," he told People at the time.
He has been attending the same school since fourth grade and knows everyone well, but did say it would be "really interesting" to go back to school after season two was released.
"I feel like you just accept it right away, and everyone has, which has been super nice for me," he added.
