Actor Barry Keoghan finally breaks silence on the rumours he cheated on Sabrina Carpenter

Barry Keoghan has broken his silence on the rumours that he cheated on Sabrina Carpenter. 

The 33-year-old actor opened up about life in the public eye and addressed the claims surrounding the end of his relationship on the Friends Keep Secrets podcast with Benny Blanco, Lil Dicky and Kristin Batalucco.

"I feel in a safe space to say this… but I have been avoiding stuff," the Irish actor told the hosts.

"I came off Instagram … and social profiles. I've stopped going to events. I've stopped, you know, just socialising."

Keoghan admitted the reason he stepped away from the public eye was because of a "not true" narrative that he had never spoken about, until now. 

"I never confirmed or said anything about it… I just disappeared," the Batman star explained.

Dicky asked if the "narrative" he was referencing involved infidelity, and Keoghan confirmed that was the rumours he was talking about. 

"I'm not asking for people to become my fan and like me because that's not normal. I'm asking for people to stop assuming and also stop jumping on this narrative and attacking me and dragging me down in any way you can," he said when denying the cheating allegations. 

"I'm not saying this for pity. Why is it cool to hop on and beat someone up?"

Keoghan admitted he never wanted to bring anyone else into it, but having a relationship in the public eye means things get put out there, and amplified. 

"It's a hard one because I never want to speak on behalf of other people and also never want to mention other people or involve them," he explained. 

The Saltburn star said it's not his place, nor his ex's to speak on his behalf, because he feels like it's "unfair to them."

Keoghan and Carpenter were first linked in December 2023, after being spotted on a date in Los Angeles. 

But a year later in December 2024, it was confirmed that they had split, at the time an insider claimed it was because their "schedules were not aligning" but rumours started to swirl. 

There were claims that Keoghan allegedly cheated on the singer with an influencer, which prompted him to deactivate his Instagram account. 

Keoghan copped plenty of backlash amid the claims, although the other woman involved also shot down the allegations and denied ever hooking up with him.
