Cause of death revealed for beloved influencer Ms Shirley three weeks after she died at 58

A cause of death has been revealed for beloved influencer Ms Shirley who died three weeks ago at the age of 58.

Ms Shirley, whose full name was Shirley Raines, was found unresponsive in the bedroom of her home in Las Vegas, Nevada, on January 27 by police performing a wellness check.

Now, People has reported that Raines' daughter Danielle Williams revealed her cause of death was hypertensive heart disease.Ms Shirley, Shirley Raines, was known for her work with the homeless before her death at 58 in January 2026.

Ms Shirley was known for distributing food and supplies to the homeless community in LA's infamous Skid Row through the organisation she founded.

Beauty 2 The Streetz is a non-profit that distributes resources to the Skid Row community, which is one of the largest homeless populations in the US, and takes up about 50 city blocks.

The organisaton has more than six million followers across Instagram and TikTok, while Ms Shirley's various social media channels have about 1.3 million followers.

Raines' twin Sheila previously told People that her sister's lifeless body was discovered after her youngest daughter became worried after failing to get in touch with her over several hours.

After trying unsuccessfully to phone her throughout the day on January 27, she drove to her home and "waited and waited," even throwing rocks at her window.

She eventually called police, who entered the home and found Shirley "unresponsive".

There were reportedly "no visible signs" of injury.

They went upstairs and found her "on the floor next to her bed upstairs".

A statement by Beauty 2 The Streetz announcing her death, paid tribute to Ms Shirley's "tireless advocacy, deep compassion, and unwavering commitment".

"She used her powerful media platform to amplify the voices of those in need and to bring dignity, resources, and hope to some of the most underserved populations," the statement said.

"This loss is devastating to the entire Beauty 2 The Streetz team, the communities we serve, and the countless individuals whose lives were forever changed by Ms Shirley's love, generosity and selfless service."https://www.instagram.com/p/DUD__ECj1ff/?utm_source=ig_embed&

Ms Shirley started her charity after visiting Skid Row with a church group in 2017.

She previously told People the tragic death of her toddler son Demetrius in 1990 inspired her work.

He died of accidental drug poisoning days before his third birthday after he ingested medication belonging to a family member while in the care of his grandmother. 

After years of partying, she joined a church volunteering group and started handing out bags of food on Skid Row.

When she realised many of the homeless women complimented her makeup and long lashes, she founded Beauty 2 The Streetz to make homeless women feel empowered and loved. 

"I know how empowering beauty is," she once said.

"If hair and makeup can get someone to a place where they respect themselves and feel dignified, then let me give them that.

"Beauty can be external, but it can also be an internal form of CPR."
