Christina Aguilera unrecognisable as she debuts bold transformation on red carpet

Christina Aguilera had fans doing a double-take with a bold new look, swapping her signature long blonde locks out for a short bob and micro bangs.

The singer, 45, walked the red carpet at the 2026 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony in an off-the-shoulder black gown by Turkish designer Salih Balta.

While there was no doubt Aguilera's leather and mesh combination gown commanded attention, it was her hairstyle that had spectators stretching their necks.

"I am shocked," one fan wrote on X.

While another noted: "She always kills the red carpet looks." 

The 'Genie In a Bottle' songstress looked almost unrecognisable as she flaunted her hair transformation.

Her chin-length tresses were gently curled at the ends while her fringe was cut ultra short to create a gamine style.

Aguilera finished the ensemble with a striking black gemstone pendant and strappy heels.

The noughties icon was joined by her fiancé Matthew Rutler, 41. The couple have been engaged since 2014.

Rutler let Aguilera shine on the carpet, sporting a simple black suit.

Cameras flashed as Rutler gave his fiancée a sweet kiss on the cheek.

The pair were among dozens of other A-list attendees including Anne Hathaway, Gigi Hadid and Salma Hayek, who came together to celebrate the greatest minds in science and mathematics.
