Cody Simpson shares serious health update weeks after return to music: 'I assumed it was just fatigue'
Cody Simpson has shared a major health update with fans just weeks after his return to music.
In an Baby Blue singer gave a candid update to his followers on an Instagram post, the Baby Blue singer told fans he had suffered from a "serious hemorrhage" on one of his vocal cords.
Simpson said the injury occurred "due to [his] overzealousness in the studio singing through a sinus infection" he "didn't know" he had.
"I originally thought I could keep this private but it's come time I share what I've been going through," the post starts.
"Just over a month ago, we discovered a serious hemorrhage on one of my vocal cords...
"I assumed it was just fatigue and kept showing up to the studio until one day I could no longer sing properly.
"I've now been on and off vocal rest for weeks, cancelling TV and radio performances for Baby Blue in the process."

Simpson added that his injury has impacted his ability to complete his upcoming album and polish up his latest singles.
He has been prescribed "two weeks of silence" in the hopes of avoiding surgery, "which demands a much longer recovery process," the musician said.
"I'm back in the studio now writing strictly as a lyricist on mute with my collaborators, and hearing/writing my vocal melodies on my guitar (which I will eventually replace with my voice when I'm able to)," he continued.
"Where there's a will, there's a way. I'd like to bring you on the journey.
"I've been extremely up and down but am now reframing this as a realignment for the long-term good.
"In the meantime, should I start sharing some of what I've already finished?"
The shocking injury comes just a few weeks after he made a triumphant return to music with his two new singles Baby Blue and When It Comes To Loving You.
The singer has been building to his new album's release for months, teasing his return to music on social media.
In one clip, he dances with a producer in the studio while playing the intro to his new song.
In another video, the singer explains the inspiration behind his new sound.
"After a year experimenting with music and writing song after song since my swimming career, I walked into the studio extremely open-minded and open-hearted," he said.
Simpson said "a new sort of sound and colour wanted to come through" him, "and it did."
The singer has been spending plenty of time in the US to make his music.
Late last year, Simpson broke up with his partner of four years, Olympic swimmer Emma McKeon.
The pair started dating in 2022, bonding over their love of swimming.
Simpson had moved into the sport after a long singing career, trying his luck as a competitive swimmer and making the Australian Olympic Team.
Earlier this year, a pair close to the couple revealed the split was "amicable," adding, "They are still really good friends."
