Lola Young reveals 'drugs recovery' journey months after collapsing on stage and cancelling all performances

Singer Lola Young has revealed that she is undergoing "drugs recovery" after collapsing on stage last year and cancelling all of her remaining performances to focus on getting better.

The 25-year-old opened up about the medical emergency in a new interview with The Times of London.

"I would rather, for the sake of my privacy, not say too much," she shared.

"But what I would say is that recovery is an ongoing process. I'm not the finished article, but I'm doing a hell of a lot better."

She clarified, "When you're in recovery… that doesn't necessarily need to mean drugs – but me specifically, yes."

Young sparked concern at the All Things Go music festival in New York in September last year, when mid-song she seemingly mouthed that she was going to "faint".

She then stumbled and fell backwards, with crew helping her offstage, as per videos of the event.

Following the onstage incident, the Conceited singer assured fans she was "doing OK," but decided to cancel her scheduled performance at the festival's Washington, D.C. stop the next day.

"I love this job and I never take my commitments and audience for granted so I'm sorry to those who will be disappointed by this," she informed her fans on Instagram Stories at the time.

"I hope you'll all give me another chance in the future."

Just days later, she declared an indefinite hiatus from performing.

"I'm going away for a while. It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future," she wrote in a statement shared with her fans on Instagram.
