Michelle Williams breaks silence on Dawson's Creek co-star James Van Der Beek's death: 'Thinking about him'
Michelle Williams has spoken publicly for the first time on the death of her friend and Dawson's Creek co-star James Van Der Beek.
Van Der Beek died at the age of 48 last month following a colorectal cancer battle.
Williams, 45, shared a touching tribute to the late star as she was asked about his death by Entertainment Tonight at the Actor Awards.

"I'm thinking about him, and I'm thinking about his family constantly," she told the publication.
"And I also just want to say it's been such an amazing thing, as James's friend and a friend of the family, to see the response in the wake of his passing."
Referring to the crowdfundraising page set up for his family following his death, she added, "I just really want to say thank you to each and every person who contributed to sustaining their life and their children's lives, and it's an incredibly meaningful thing to witness."

In a statement shared on his official Instagram page on February 11, it revealed the actor had died after his cancer battle.
"Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace," it read.
"There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity, and the sacredness of time.
"Those days will come. For now we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend."

"I formed some words with a heavy heart. This is a lot to process. I am so grateful to have shared in a piece of James' journey," she captioned her post.
