The 2026 Met Gala selfie is here: Who's in the rule-breaking snap and what went on inside the event

The exclusivity of the Met Gala means that there are no phones or photos allowed inside the event, but there is one place celebrities are not so closely monitored – the bathroom.
It has since become somewhat of a tradition to skirt the rules to take a cheeky snap in the bathroom, ever since Kylie Jenner did it for the first time in 2017.
The first Met Gala bathroom selfie of 2026 has dropped, courtesy of model Bhavita Mandava – and it features plenty of big names.

BLACKPINK members Lisa and Jisoo smiled cheek to cheek while Rosé posed in front of them, next to Mandava.
Jennie was on the other side, posing with her hand on her hip in the middle of Gracie Abrams and Rachel Sennott.
Behind them was model Awar Odhiang, who took her own angle of the selfie. Next to her were Ayo Edebiri and Aussie actress Margot Robbie.

Squeezing into the back are K-Pop Demon Hunters stars Audrey Nuna and EJAE, who could only be identified by her peace sign.
Though phones aren't allowed inside the event, after been banned by Met Gala chair Anna Wintour in 2015, there are still some snaps taken from inside the event.
Professional photos from inside the 2026 Met Gala have given a glimpse of what the stars got up to behind closed doors.
One snap showed Tate McRae, Rosé, and Connor Storrie mid-dance move as they enjoyed the entertainment provided.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky grabbed Heidi Klum – who was dressed as a living statue – for a photo.
The trio messed around and laughing as they took snaps, with the rapper cheekily hiding a peace sign behind Klum's head.
Sabrina Carpenter took inspiration from the Met's exhibits, posing with her arms up alongside one that referenced the same era as her own costume.
Friends Hailey Bieber and Kylie Jenner took a snap with their matching dresses, which both play on the female form. While Bieber went for a gold-plated look, Jenner wore a dress that looked like it was melting off.
Kendall Jenner looked ethereal as she posed with a gigantic pair of sheer wings.
The model and reality star looked like a statue as she held her arms up, with the sheer wings outstretched, looking like an addition to her frock.
But aside from all of the photos, there was a killer performance from two superstars.
Sabrina also teamed up with Stevie Nicks for a rendition of Fleetwood Mac's iconic track Landslide, sweetly holding hands as they sung together.
For the performance, Carpenter stunned in a glittering and sequinned gold dress, while Nicks wore a chic black number.
