Will and Grace star Corey Parker passes away aged 60 after private battle with cancer

Will and Grace star Corey Parker has died aged 60 after a battle with cancer.

His aunt, Emily Parker, confirmed to local outlets that the actor passed away on Thursday in Memphis, Tennessee, after a battle with the illness.

His sister, Noelle, also addressed his passing in a statement posted to the BGB Acting Studio's Instagram page.

"I believe he left this world weightless, at peace & surrounded with love," the statement starts.

"You were a massive part of my creative work, my creative family, for decades.

"It meant everything full circle when you joined our BGB community as a teacher, and we navigated the work together, all of us, always coming back to the truth and the potential of storytelling, of the actor's endless power.

"You kept us all honest and brave and about art."

The statement went on to say his family and friends will continue to celebrate his "incredible talent, unparalleled passion and joy," remembering his "huge gift for and devotion to teaching, your generosity, your love."

"All our lives are so much richer for knowing you, and you carry on in each of us, and in what you gifted and inspired in us… forever."

The actor landed a role in the sitcom Flying Blind in 1992, playing college graduate Neil Barash opposite Tea Leoni.

It only ran for one season, but it featured prominent actors, including Friends star Lisa Kudrow.

He later starred in Will and Grace for his recurring role as Josh, one of Grace's boyfriends, for five episodes of the sitcom.

His mother, Rocky, was married to Patrick Dempsey in the late 80s and early 90s. She passed away in 2014.

His sister was also an actor, with the star seemingly getting his creativity from his family.
