Philippine Cinema Embracing the World: FAMAS 2026 Sets the Stage for Its Historic 75th Year

Manila, Philippines – September 14, 2025 - The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), the Philippines’ most iconic and enduring symbol of cinematic excellence, is preparing for an unforgettable 2026 celebration that will carry the passion and artistry of Filipino cinema onto the global stage.

The 2026 FAMAS will be more than an awards night—it will be a romantic celebration of Filipino storytelling as it meets the world, honoring the legacy of the past while embracing the promise of tomorrow. From Manila’s red carpets to global film circles, FAMAS is gearing up for a renaissance that will culminate in its 75th year in 2027—a historic celebration of Philippine cinema’s timeless brilliance. It will be formally unveiled in Prague, Czech Republic, on October 2,3, and 4 at the Ministry of Trade and Industry.  It will be attended by Investors from Geneva, Movie Producers from Cannes, and the Philippine Ambassador to the Czech Republic.

At the heart of this transformation—uniting hearts and cultures through his unmatched network and passion for the arts. His presence promises to extend FAMAS beyond Philippine shores, weaving its stories into the global fabric of cinema and giving the world a chance to fall in love with Filipino artistry.

“Cinema is poetry written in light. The Philippines has countless stories of love, courage, and resilience. With FAMAS, we will let these stories travel—crossing oceans and touching hearts everywhere,” FAMAS President Francia Camacho Conrado said.

For more than seven decades, FAMAS has been the guardian of Philippine film heritage. As it approaches its 75th year, the Academy renews its vow: to shine a light on Filipino artistry, preserve its stories, and share its passion with the world,  a move that signals a bold new chapter.

FAMAS also welcomes the participation of Noubikko, a leader with a far-reaching international network, to ensure that Philippine cinema will resonate far beyond its borders toward international groundwork for the Academy’s diamond milestone: its 75th anniversary in 2027.  Noubikko shared, “Cinema is the heartbeat of culture—telling stories of love, resilience, and hope. The Philippines has a voice the world is ready to hear, and with FAMAS, that voice will echo across nations.”
